Lovable Luke Scott Agrees to One-Year Deal With Rays

Former Orioles outfielder Luke Scott has signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Rays after spending four seasons in Baltimore. His best full season was in 2010 where he finished with an OPS of .902 before being limited to just 64 games last season. However, aside from his excessive home run trots that drove Kevin Millwood crazy and injuring himself during said trots, you may know Luke best away from the baseball field as the guy who loves guns, firmly believes that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States and who said “Obama does not represent America” nor “what our forefathers stood for.”

He’s also the dude who would throw banana chips at Felix Pie when he deemed his teammate’s behavior was that of an “animal.” Basically, Scott is like your next door neighbor if your neighbor happens to be Randy Quaid’s character from “Moving.”

His deal with Tampa is said to include an option for 2013. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
