Shahid Khan has only owned the Jacksonville Jaguars for, like, a week and he’s already managed to alienate most of their fans. During Wednesday’s introduction of head coach mike Mularkey, Khan had this to say about the fans.
“For me a fan is somebody who is a season ticket holder for the Jaguars. So that is a key definition we need to get out. We want to hear from people, we want a huge amount of constructive feedback. We need input, but we need that from fans who are season ticket holders.”
Based on the fact that “Jaguars blackout” returns about a million results on Google, I have a feeling there are quite a few people in the Jacksonville area who do not hold Jaguars season tickets. Don’t worry, Khan quickly backtracked when (I assume) his advisers and PR people said, “Hey, maybe don’t say you only care about the people who spend thousands on season tickets, dummy.” Or something along those lines.
“All it takes to be a Jaguars fan is to love the Jaguars. And if you love the Jaguars, you’re the most important person to me and the entire organization.”
What really matters is how zany Khan looks. That hair. That mustache. Telling non-ticket-holders how much they stink. I like this guy.
