The Sony Open in Hawaii is going on this weekend and after day 2, 28-year-old Matt Every is your leader at -10. Every finished with three consecutive birdies and a back 9 score of 30. Being the leader, he earned the privilage of an interview with The Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman.
You might remember Tilghman from a couple years back when she suggested golfers lynched Tiger Woods. If you think it’s weird that I bring that up right now, don’t. It’s no weirder than Tilghman using Every’s 6-under round as an excuse to bring up Every’s arrest for marijuana in July of 2010. Don’t worry though, she softened the blow of blindsiding him with questions about his “drug charges” on live television by asking him if he had been surfing yet and comparing the Hawaiian scenery to that of LOST. I’d say this is an early candidate for Most Awkward Interview of 2012. At least until Tilghman gets to ask Tiger what’s up with all the skanks?
