Victor Martinez Has a Torn ACL, Likely Out For the Year

Since there’s obviously no immediate answer to replace Martinez, a No. 5 hitter with the second best OPS on the team, GM Dave Dombrowski can expect to get about 10 minutes of sleep for the next month and would be wise to simply affix his cell phone to his ear — yes, that would still look better than a Bluetooth — until a viable option is found. And he better hurry because the Yankees are rumored to be in the midst of reunion talks with Hideki Matsui, fork in back and all.
