Fausto Carmona Arrested in Dominican Republic for Using False Identity

Indians pitcher Fausto Carmona has been arrested in the Dominican Republic and charged with using a false identity. He was apparently detained while leaving the American consulate after renewing his visa. According to Dionisio Soldevila, Carmona’s real name is Roberto Hernandez and he is actually 31 years old, not 28.

Not quite as juicy as Olden Polynice’s burning desire to impersonate a police officer — twice, allegedly — but strange nonetheless.

In possibly bigger news, the Indians signed Fred Lewis today. A stirring afternoon for the Tribe to say the least.
