Aaron Rodgers Did Not Like the Effort in the Pro Bowl

"I’ll be honest with you, I was a little bit disappointed. I felt like some of the guys on the NFC side embarrassed themselves. I was just surprised that some of the guys either didn’t want to play or when they were in there didn’t put any effort into it."

Did Aaron Rodgers break some sort of code? I doubt it. I don’t know how you can break some secret code when the embarrassing performance is there for everyone to see–this isn’t talking about who blew a coverage or talking about a locker room secret. I mean, here’s a video, and the “effort” by the linemen on both sides, including in attempting to get to Aaron Rodgers, is embarrassing.

The pro bowl has always been an exhibition. In the last two years, though, the effort has moved past the line to be unwatchable. In the past, at least it looked more like players were trying. The games of patty cake on the pass rush and when the teams ran the ball was insulting. My guess is if the players did not care if that is how it looked during the game, they aren’t really going to care what a quarterback who got to play a game untouched thinks.

I think they should just go flag football, 7 on 7, with everybody eligible as a receiver. That would be more honest than what happened last Sunday.
