Not a good way to impress the scouts and try to vault into the first round.

Charles opened the season as one of the better tight ends in the country, and at 6-3, 240, he had a strong season catching passes (career highs in catches, yards and TDs) from future pro Aaron Murray. Charles benefitted greatly from AJ Green taking his game to the NFL.

I’ve got Charles as the 2nd or 3rd best tight end prospect in the draft (toss-up between he and Clemson’s Dwayne Allen). I’m higher on Stanford’s Coby Fleener*.

Previously: NFL Mock Draft 5.0

* With the Peyton-to-Denver rumors swirling, Fleener makes even more sense to Denver, where he might take the Dallas Clark role.
