Andy Pettitte Signs 1-Year Deal With Yankees

According to Jack Curry of the YES Network, Andy Pettitte — presumably perturbed with all of the attention March Madness is receiving — has decided to come out of retirement and sign with his beloved New York Yankees. It’s a one-year deal worth $2.5 million.

The out-of-nowhere addition to the roster gives the Bombers an abundance of depth at starting pitching, seven arms to be exact, in CC Sabathia, Michael Pineda, Ivan Nova, Hiroki Kuroda, Phil Hughes, and Freddy Garcia.

Sadly, this announcement was not made during a game at Yankee Stadium, depriving us all of yet another press box orgasm from Suzyn Waldman.
