On the final possession, Creighton gave up a foul that they had to give with 4.7 seconds left.

Alabama then butchered the final opportunity. Anthony Grant called timeout after the ball was inbounded, taking the clock down to 2.2 seconds. Costly. They should have called timeout before the inbounds or not at all. Then, the Tide got a very poor shot that didn’t even come close, with an opportunity to advance.

Creighton and Doug McDermott will now likely get to face McDermott’s high school teammate Harrison Barnes of North Carolina in the next round.
