#1 Michigan State vs. #16 LIU-Brooklyn, 9:20 in Columbus (TBS). LIU has two 5’10” guards and their big men are 6’7″. They have trouble on the defensive boards anyway, but they have no chance if Michigan State dominates up front.

The Line: Michigan State by 19. The Pick: Michigan State -19

#7 Notre Dame vs. #10 Xavier, 9:45 in Greensboro (CBS). This Catholic school battle should be a defensive showdown. The winner will have bragging rights in that lovely stretch from Chicago to Cincinnati.

The Line: Notre Dame by 2. The Pick: Xavier +2

#5 Temple vs. #12 South Florida, 9:50 in Louisville (TNT). Temple is much better offensively, while the Bulls make their bones on the defensive end. Temple’s three point shooters, led by Juan Fernandez and Ramone Moore, versus the Bulls’ length and athleticism on the perimeter.

The Line: Temple by 2.5. The Pick: South Florida +2.5

#2 Kansas vs. #15 Detroit, 9:57 in Omaha (TruTV). The Jayhawks simply cannot lose this game. It won’t happen. Too overpowering, too dominant, too deep, and they never lose to an inferior opponent in March. It’s not happening.

The Line: Kansas by 14. The Pick: Kansas -14. I’d take Kansas if it was -34.
