Tate George, best remembered for his dramatic game winning shot for Connecticut against Clemson in the 1990 Regional Semifinals, has been indicted in New Jersey for investment fraud.
According to the Connecticut Post, after finishing his NBA career with the New Jersey Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, George had an investment company, The George Group. It is alleged that George ran a Ponzi scheme wherein he took over 2 million in investments, including from athletes. George faces up to twenty years in prison, plus fines for each count of mail fraud.
Elden Campbell is no doubt stunned.
