Bobby Petrino was involved in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening according to Robbie Neiswanger of the Arkansas News. Petrino, the 51-year old football coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, went to the hospital where he stayed overnight. There’s no word yet on the extent of his injuries.
Petrino has coached Arkansas for the last four years, taking the Razorbacks to three straight bowl games. The Razorbacks, who finished last season ranked 5th, figure to be one of the best teams in the country in 2012.
[UPDATE: ESPN’s Joe Schad tweets that Petrino is “pretty banged-up” but the injuries are not “life-threatening.”]
[UPDATE II: Thomas Murphy reports Petrino suffered multiple broken ribs, “all kinds of cuts and bruises” and a sprained neck.]
