UFC 145 Preview: The Jon Jones - Rashad Evans Grudge Match

Will that affect Saturday’s title fight? I don’t think so. There are enough hurt feelings to last a lifetime. Plus, they both really like that belt. I feel like we may be underestimating Rashad Evans. Rashad has dominated some damn talented fighters and is a real threat. Do I think he will beat Jon Jones? No. I don’t think anyone can beat Jon Jones. If anyone can make Jones work though, it should be his former mentor and training partner.

I’ve included the UFC Primetime episodes. I think they were pretty good. It wasn’t really a break from form, but I think Rashad and Jones’ story is pretty interesting. And if you’re ready to look ahead… The UFC has apparently flown Dan Henderson into Atlanta. That probably means he’s going to enter the octagon after the main event to challenge the winner. Now way that plan works out. Unless Jones treats Rashad like his dread-locked sparring partner.

Rory MacDonald – Che Mills is a “kind-of-sort-of-top-contender” fight. MacDonald is the great Canadian hope. Brendan Schaub tries to get back the momentum that Big Nog knocked out of his head in Brazil. Michael McDonald – Miguel Torres should be an entertaining fight. And finally, here’s a fun fact: John Alessio fought for the UFC welterweight championship on June 9, 2000 at UFC 26. His opponent was Pat Miletich.
