Rajon Rondo got the one-game suspension everyone knew was coming, and now Boston’s starting backcourt for game two against the Hawks will probably be Keyon Dooling and Avery Bradley. Ray Allen’s listed as doubtful (ankle).
Hey, remember Saturday afternoon? Derrick Rose went down and the knee-jerk sofa analysts went wild – Boston had an easy path to the Eastern Conference finals! And Boston owns Miami, so … Boston could get back to the Finals!
Well, that’s still possible … the Celtics will just need a heroic performance from Paul Pierce to prevent an 0-2 deficit against the Hawks. Considering Rondo drives the offense and is a terrific defensive player, my game two guess: Atlanta 94, Boston 78.
Oh, and Bill Simmons broke out the investigative hat and monocle and tweeted this video earlier. Wonder if Marc Davis will call another Atlanta-Boston game in this series?
