Meanwhile, it is Rickie Fowler and his Super Sounds of the Seventies look who has made a Saturday charge, making 6 birdies in the first 11 holes. Fowler just made another birdie on 16, and is at 10 under for the Championship. He took the outright lead with the latest birdie, and also survived the dangerous #17 island green by getting on the putting surface. The leaders entering the day are still on the front nine and can still surpass Fowler on the day, though only Na is under par (-9 overall) for today’s round through six holes.

As it stands right now, 14 players are within 5 strokes of Fowler, but Tiger Woods will not be one of them, tied for 34th right now and likely too far back to make any real noise on Sunday.

[UPDATE: Fowler bogeyed the 18th hole to drop back to 9 under and finish with a 66 for the day. Matt Kuchar has made two straight birdies to regain the lead]

[UPDATE #2: Kevin Na took the lead entering Sunday with a birdie on #18. The final pairing will be Na and Kuchar, with Fowler 3 strokes back, in the next to last group.]
