According to a press release, Lawrence Taylor is auctioning off his Super Bowl XXV Ring. It’s his second Super Bowl ring, the one he won against the Buffalo Bills. Taylor is repeatedly in and out of the news for off the field issues, and a day after the current Giants received their rings, the former star is in the news again.
According to the site SCPauctions.com, where the ring is currently up for bid:
Lawrence Taylor epitomized what a football player should be. He moved like lightning and hit like thunder. He showcased superhuman abilities and defensive prowess that few if anyone had ever before seen on a football field. “LT” simply defied logic and was an absolute force of nature against opposing teams whose offensive coordinators would spend weeks to prepare against him, thinking of ways to at least slow him down if not contain him.
Lawrence Taylor does not epitomize what a football player should be off the field. He’s free to sell his ring, and it will likely go for a pretty penny given his name, the team and market he played for. The current bid is up to $37,982.
