Baseball fans, for the most part, seem to love and appreciate Bryce Harper’s tireless hustle and general approach to the game, while at the same time experiencing a deep disgust for his overdone eye black, his hair, and his creepy smirk. Well I’m happy to report we have another item to throw into the positive side of the column, as it appears the Nationals outfielder has a sense of humor. Here’s Harper before the Nats began their three-game set with the Philles on Monday:
“Hopefully, you know, I get a couple boos. You know, that’d be awesome. I’m excited to get in there and play, and hopefully they don’t throw any batteries or what not at me, so we’ll see.”
Fortunately for Harper, no Duracells have been lodged in either ear, yet, but he does have a second date with aggressive ball tosser Cole Hamels this evening. The chances of him getting plunked again are probably around 0.01%. However, should the Philly fancy boy inexplicably throw at him, Twitter will explode like Harry Dunn’s ass. I’ll be rooting for that.
