Mike Francesa Thinks Ike Davis Has Jungle Fever

Ike Davis of the Mets has been struggling this season. In 42 games and 155 at bats, Davis is hitting just .159 with an OBP of .213. Radio blowhard Mike Francesa on the other hand – he’s been on fire lately.  Last week he made some epic comments about Twitter. Yesterday, he said that Davis’ struggles this season could be due to “Jungle Fever.”

“Someone brought up Jungle Fever. Now we don’t even know how that manifests itself.”

Well Mike, if Ike Davis were in fact suffering from “Jungle Fever” he would be perusing dark-skinned women. Francesa was, of course, referring to Davis’ bout with Valley fever earlier this month. Valley fever manifests itself in a much less sexy way. If you are interested in learning more about Jungle Fever, Spike Lee made a movie on the subject back in the 1990’s.
