Brian Banks Has Been Invited to Seattle Mini-Camp, Will Work Out for the Chargers

After 10 years, Brian Banks was exonerated of criminal charges. Brian Banks, the former USC recruit who was recently exonerated of a rape conviction for which he served five years in prison, had a workout with the Seattle Seahawks Thursday. According to Danny O’Neil, that workout went well enough that Banks has been invited to participate in a three day mini-camp that begins next Tuesday.

Banks, who is 6-foot-2 and 239 pounds and can still run under a 4.7 40 yard dash, impressed the Seahawks with his poise. Banks refused to express bitterness, instead seeming genuinely gracious for the opportunities that have recently arisen.

“The opportunities that I’ve received, men dream of those days,” Banks said. “They get up every morning, they work hard for that type of offer. I just want to make sure that I’m prepared.”

Banks is going to talk to his agent, as he also has several other teams expressing interest. He is working out for San Diego today, and likely wants to see other interest to find a situation that gives him the best chance to compete for a roster spot before committing.
