Euro 2012: Mandzukic and Jelavic Goals Give Croatia a 3-1 win Over Ireland [Update]

Ireland vs. Croatia had sneaky great match potential. As we hoped, it is erring toward the unhinged. Mario Mandzukic gave Croatia an early 1-0 lead against Ireland with a lazy header. Irish goalkeeper Shay Given’s knee injury likely converting that from a save to a goal. It looked like disaster for the Irish, though they took one back with Sean St. Ledger napping the equalizer on a set piece. Croatia would regain the lead just before halftime though, with in form Nikica Jelavic pouncing (after a botched offside call) just before halftime.
Shay Given’s own goal secured a 3-1 win for Croatia.
