Nick Watney was having a decent round at +2, but was 7 strokes back of leader Michael Thompson as he headed to the 17th hole. Then, from 190 yards out on the par 5, Watney holed out his second shot. It was the second double eagle this year in a Major. That propelled him to even par one under, and then he birdied got a par on #18 as well.

Watney sits in a tie for 2nd place at 1-under, along with Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, David Toms, and Graeme McDowell, as only 6 players finished under par on the first day at Olympic.
