Most surprising was Tim Lincecum’s performance, as he had been struggling. The Giants had lost 9 straight starts by Lincecum until the last two wins, and he got his first official win since April 28th on Wednesday. The 22-year old Bumgarner, meanwhile, made another strong impression before the announcement of the All-Star Game roster on Sunday, as he is now 10-4 with a 2.85 ERA.

It must be pretty nice when you can throw four straight shutouts, and then, the ace of your staff and a guy who just threw a perfect game takes the mound next. If Matt Cain can extend the streak, they will match the 1995 Orioles, the last team to go five straight games without allowing a run.
