Kris Humphries: $12 Million Man. The Nets' Starting Lineup All Makes $10+ Million Per Year
By Jason McIntyre
Joakim Noah: $11 million
Rajon Rondo: $11 million (!!!)
Monta Ellis: $11 million
Andrea Bargnani: $10 million
Kris Humphries was a star in high school, had a quiet and brief college career with the Gophers, and basically did nothing in Utah and Toronto and Dallas before getting a chance with the sorry-ass Nets. He’s made the most of his opportunity, averaging 10 ppg and 10.4 rpg in 2010-2011, and then 13.8 ppg and 11.0 rpg last season. With Deron Williams and Joe Johnson jacking up shots, and Brook Lopez being a poor rebounder, Humphries should thrive again as a garbage man.
Here are the starting salaries next season for the Nets:
PG – Deron Williams $19 million (probably; couldn’t find a breakdown of his $98 million, 5-year deal)
SG – Joe Johnson $19 million
SF – Gerald Wallace $10 million (4 years, $40 million)
PF – Humprhies, $12 million
C – Brook Lopez, $13 million (4 years, $61 million contract)
The sad part? If the Knicks don’t retain Jeremy Lin, I think the Nets finished ahead of New York in the East.
