Felipe Kitadai was extremely excited to win the bronze medal in the 60-kg judo division over the weekend at the London Olympics. So excited that he carried the medal around with him wherever he went. That includes the shower, where he broke it.
Kitadai told Brazil’s GloboEsporte.com that the part holding the medal’s string broke, and now he can’t wear it around his neck. He said there’s also a small dent on it.
Kitadai is now trying to get a replacement medal. This is just one more case where the Olympics are just like prison. You don’t want to drop the thing you wear around your neck in the shower. [CTV]
