Preseason Football, Week 2: A.J. Green and Julio Jones Poised for Big Years as Bengals Visit Falcons

The second week of preseason opens with Cincinnati going against Atlanta (game starts at 8 eastern on FOX). It features two receivers who will be forever linked because they both went in the top 6 of the same draft. Both A.J. Green and Julio Jones had very good rookie years, so the skies the limit. How good? Both were among the ten best in yards as first round rookies since the merger. We won’t see them all game, but should see both in action into the second quarter.

Cincinnati had a rash of injuries in the first week of the preseason, including losing left guard Travelle Wharton for the season. The line will be working on accounting for that absence.

Meanwhile, the other game tonight is the annual Green Bay versus Cleveland game where the Browns inexplicably look really good and fool people like me into thinking they could do something this year. (Cleveland has won 27-17 and 27-24 the last two years, so get mentally prepared for that.
