NFL Preseason: Young Quarterbacks Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, and John Skelton in Important Week 3 Spotlight

Tonight’s week three schedule begins with three young quarterbacks in action. Blaine Gabbert has shown improvement this pre-season, going 18 for 26 for 174 yards and 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Repeat after me: it’s the preseason. Another solid performance tonight, against a Baltimore unit that has been vulnerable to big passing plays early in preseason but certainly known to bring the heat, would still be a good sign. Gabbert will likely get three quarters of action, and you know Baltimore will want to begin sorting out their pass rush without T-Sizzle.

Another game features Tennessee and Arizona. Jake Locker was already named the starter despite an unimpressive week 2 showing, and you know that he wants to justify that tonight. In Arizona, John Skelton is getting the start almost by default, with Kevin Kolb wilting away.

Green Bay also plays Cincinnati tonight, as Cedric Benson should get first team carries against his most recent team.
