Lousiana-Monroe upset No. 8 Arkansas 34-31 in Little Rock. The victory was no fluke. The Warhawks out-gained Arkansas by nearly 200 yards, stopped them on 9/12 third down attempts and held them under 100 yards rushing. Facing 4th and 1 in overtime, the Warhawks opted to go for it, rather than kick the game-tying field goal. Quarterback Kolton Browning ran it in for the touchdown. Arkansas was a 30-point favorite heading into the game.

The loss was not the worst of it for the Razorbacks. Cornerback Tevin Mitchel was stretchered off the field after a helmet to helmet collision eerily similar to the one with Tulane’s Devon Walker. Starting quarterback Tyler Wilson also left the game with “an above the shoulder injury.”

ULM has never been to a bowl game, but did upset Nick Saban’s Alabama in 2007.
