CJ Spiller, pressed into action due to Fred Jackson’s leg injury, had an outstanding season opener against the Jets, rushing 14 times for 169 yards and a TD. This was Spiller’s most spectacular run, breaking three tackles – including one in the backfield – and then sprinting 56 yards to set up a touchdown. The Jets won, 48-28.
