Players receive 57 percent of revenue under the current agreement. The players’ proposal called for a four percent decrease to 53 percent. The owners started at 43 percent and have budged to 47 percent. Expect the two sides to settle around 50 percent, after spending millions having their lawyers wave their dicks at each other.

Buffalo and USA goalkeeper Ryan Miller summed up the Bettman tenure pretty well.

"“Gary has basically run this business for 20 years, so if he’s operated at a loss for how many of those years, how is he still in a position of leadership, or even have a job?”"

NHL fans should not be too concerned though. It’s not as if both Gary Bettman and Donald Fehr have a track record of letting collective bargaining negotiations obliterate an entire season. Oh wait…

NBCSN should start preparing for life without its bell cow.
