Reggie Bush vs. Bart Scott dates back to when the running back was a rookie with the Saints, coming off a tremendous college career. Scott and Bush had a moment or two in a 2006 game, and afterward, mouthy Scott said this:

"“The media darling, aka the golden boy of the NFL, tried to take a cheap shot at me, so I told him I was going to put some extra on it. He can do all those shakes he wants, but I wasn’t going anywhere. I put a little hot sauce on that ankle.” “He’s just a guy, simple as that. What did he get this week? He played like a kid who got chased from school.”"

Fast-forward to last Sunday. Late in the first half – one in which Reggie Bush was carving up the Jets’ weak defense – Bush ran up the middle and came out with an injury. Afterward, Scott’s fellow linebacker Calvin Pace said, “we had to put him on out.” Bush didn’t return with a knee injury, but his status this week is unknown.

You know what happened next: Darrelle Revis suffered a non-contact knee injury – one that will require surgery. His season is over. Here’s Reggie Bush’s response to Revis going down, to a radio show in Florida:

"“It’s like the old saying, ‘What goes around comes around,’ ” Bush said in a radio interview on The Paul and Young Ron Show in South Florida. “They talked about all week about putting hot sauce and this and that, and they ended up losing their best player for the rest of the season. So, it’s sad that it happened because of that, but I’m going to be back.”"

October 28th. 1 pm. The rematch in New York. Can’t wait, as Scott would say.
