Yankee manager Joe Girardi decided to pinch-hit Raul Ibanez for A-Rod’s criminally flaccid bat with one out in the ninth inning and it paid off huge, as the homer-addicted lizard came through with a solo shot to tie things up.
Naturally, in his next at-bat, Ibanez hit a walkoff home run to give the Yankees a 2-1 series lead. Absurd? Beyond absurd.
