John Wall, the Dougie-ing point guard of the Washington Wizards who will miss the first month of the season with a patella stress injury, was asked about singer Jon Bon Jovi, who sat courtside at the team’s preseason game in Toronto against the Raptors. Michael Lee of the Washington Post captured the scene in the locker room:
Wall was asked about Bon Jovi and he replied, “Who’s that?”
Jan Vesely, the Czech forward getting dressed nearby, was stunned as he looked at Wall.
“No. You don’t know him?” Vesely said.
Emeka Okafor, seated in an adjacent locker room stall, shook his head and laughed.
Wall smiled and said, “I’m a 90s baby. I never heard of him.”
Wall was born in 1990 and went to high school in North Carolina, and in his defense, Bon Jovi’s best, most popular work was done in the 80s and … yeah, I really can’t defend this. Sorry, John, I tried. [Wash Post]
