Ohio State’s defense capitalized on Michigan miscues. The offense scraped two field goals. The Buckeyes beat rival Michigan 26-21 to preserve a perfect 12-0 season. Great call to play in the Gator Bowl last year. Game ball goes to Carlos Hyde, who ran for 146 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries and converted the crucial third and seven to ice the game. We won’t offer you any highlights from the second half, because no one needs to see that half of football again. It was a fitting summation of a dreadful Big Ten season.

After three Michigan touchdown drives of longer than 70 yards in the first half, the Wolverines gained 33 yards total in the second half. Michigan, sans the 67 yard Denard Robinson run, averaged 1.6 yards per carry on the ground. Eleven of the first 15 plays in the second half were designed runs. Al Borges was trending nationally on twitter. That’s never good.

This was not a 12-0 caliber Ohio State team, but it certainly had a 12-0 caliber coach.
