Carlin Isles was a sprinter, and before that a running back/cornerback at Division II Ashland College. He had the 36th fastest time in the 100m among Americans in 2012. A longshot to reach the Olympics as a member of the track team, Isles decided this summer to give Rugby a shot for the first time, and contacted the Team USA CEO. After working in on the qualification circuit, he was quickly elevated to the USA Sevens team and has now played in three events. The above video shows that he is taking to it rather well.

Team USA has improved its standing in each of the last three tournaments on the World Cup Circuit, and Isles will be on display in the upcoming tournament in Las Vegas (and on NBC) in February.
