R.A. Dickey Will Be Traded to Blue Jays, If He Agrees to a Contract Extension By Tuesday

Rumors of a R.A. Dickey to Toronto deal involving top Blue Jays prospect catcher Travis D’Arnaud have been flying for two days. It appears a deal is finally in place, with one contingency. According to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, an agreement in principle has been reached between Toronto and the Mets, contingent on Dickey agreeing to a contract extension with the Blue Jays by 2 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday.

The players involved in the deal: Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey, catcher Josh Thole and what is described as a “non-elite prospect” going to the Blue Jays, in exchange for catcher Travis D’Arnaud, right handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard, veteran catcher John Buck and another prospect.
