Black Monday has begun with news that Cleveland’s head coach and one of its former head coach have both been fired. Pat Shurmur is out in Cleveland, along with GM Tom Heckert, according to Jay Glazer. Not an unsurprising move at all considering that the front office which hired Shurmur is gone. Romeo Crennel is also reportedly out in Kansas City, though no official announcement has come. According to Adam Schefter, Scott Pioli is safe, for now. (more on that later, I’m sure).

Mike Tannenbaum has been fired as Jets GM by Woody Johnson, but head coach Rex Ryan is safe. The Chiefs and Jets should totally get together, guys. One has a coach but not a GM, and the other has a GM, and is replacing another coach under that GM, which will likely lead to a loud fan revolt if the reports are true.

Finally, Gene Smith is out as GM in Jacksonville, a completely unsurprising move since the Jaguars tied the Chiefs for worst record in the league and he drafted a punter in the same round as Russell Wilson last year.
