Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Louisville

Florida: Anemic but efficient offense. Incredible defense. Florida, at 11-1, had a better regular season resumé than both teams that played in the SEC title game. They went 5-1 against the SRS Top 15. It did not come with the fireworks characteristic of the Meyer and Spurrier eras, but fans only care about winning. They did a lot of that, though one would not know that looking at Will Muschamp.

Louisville: This was a good, young Cardinals team. Though not a great one. They led a bit of a charmed life, winning one-score games against some not so great teams (Southern Miss, South Florida and Florida International). They are decent in most areas, though they have a great play-maker at quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater. Louisville impressed enough to get bailed out by the ACC.

Worth Noting: Northern Illinois [SRS 36] might not have been BCS worthy. Louisville, the Big East champ with a guaranteed bid, finished [SRS 56]. Florida claims to be taking them seriously.

Prediction: The result won’t be in doubt, though a 14-point spread is huge with that offense. Louisville, with its passing game, is a definite back door cover threat. [Pick: Louisville +14]
