Cleveland Cockfighting Bust Nets 40 Men, 43 Cocks

The Cleveland Cockfight: not an alliterative sexual feat, sadly. On Saturday, police in Ohio’s Emerald City uncovered a cockfighting ring operating in a basement on West 30th street. They detained 40 members and found shelter for their 43 cocks or, as the delicate media would term them, “live roosters.”
" Police said they were called at 4:20 p.m. about possible dog fighting in a house on West 30th Street at Hancock Avenue. Investigating officers heard noises from the basement, where they found the 40 men engaged in cockfighting, a “blood sport” between roosters that involves betting. "
The homeowner faces felony charges of animal cruelty and gambling. Cleveland residents, wondering what has become of their city, will be wistful for the good old days.
