Female Kicker Lauren Silberman's Combine Tryout was Not Very Impressive [Video]

Lauren Silberman became the first woman to try out at a NFL regional combine but it wasn’t very exciting: She injured her quad preparing she was only able to muster up kicks of 19 and 13 yards. Silberman is a former club soccer player at Wisconsin and had a goal of attempting a 60-yard field goal at the combine.

"“They certainly didn’t go as far as they were in practices,” Silberman said, “but I tried to work through the pain.” ”You know, the distance wasn’t there, but hopefully the scouts will notice my technique,” she said. ”It’s not always length.”"

Distance is fairly important for NFL kickers so this should probably be considered more of a publicity stunt than an actual tryout.
