Conference/Record: Summit League (25-9)

Location: Brookings, SD

Famous Alums/Attendees: NFL Kicker Adam Vinatieri attended SDSU from 1991-1995, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, and NFL Hall of Famer Jim Langer

Social Media: The Jackrabbits  twitter account is @SDSU_Jacks and you can follow their star player, Nate Wolters at @NateWolters.

Random Fun Fact: Although it’s a “discovery” whose true founder is contested, SDSU claims that Cookies and Cream ice cream was invented at the on-campus dairy plant.

Tournament History/Most Recent: This will be SDSU’s second straight (and second overall) tournament appearance. They lost 68-60 last year to Baylor last year.

Good Wins/Bad Losses: The Jackrabbits have a great win @New Mexico. Even though their bad losses all come on the road, losses to Hofstra and CS Bakersfield stand out.

Notable Player(s): This team is going to go as far as Nate Wolters takes them. Nate is 4th in the country in scoring (22.7 ppg) but he also averages nearly 6 rebounds and 6 assists per game. Most mock drafts have Nate Wolters being an early pick in the second round.

All-Important Rankings: 61 (RPI), 102 (Pomeroy), 95 (Seven Overtimes)

Outlook/Seed: Look for the Jackrabbits to slide into a 14 seed. They’ve got a profile significantly better than champions from other one-bid leagues, but not good enough to push their way into 12 or 13 seed. They will probably be an 8-9 point underdog to a team like Florida or Michigan St.
