Louisville Beat Duke 85-63, Earned Last Final Four Spot

Louisville was the overall No. 1 seed and they proved worthy of it, beating Duke 85-63, to earn the last place in the Final Four alongside Wichita State, Syracuse and Michigan. Their players rallied for a dominant second-half after witnessing Kevin Ware’s gruesome broken leg right in front of the team bench. At least this one was competitive…for a half.

Cardinals guards Smith and Siva combined for 39 points on 54 percent shooting. Gorgui Dieng came through with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. Duke had a rough night against the suffocating Louisville defense. Curry, Cook, Kelly and Sulaimon combined to shoot 10/39 from the field and 3/14 from three-point range.

Syracuse’s zone vs. Michigan’s offense will be fun. Headline writers will be threatened with tasers preemptively before Rick Pitino meets the Shockers.
