Brian Banks, Former High School Football Star Who Spent Five Years Wrongfully Jailed, Has Signed with the Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have signed Brian Banks to a free agent contract, Jay Glazer reports. Banks, you might recall, was exonerated for a rape conviction after spending five years in jail. He was a top football recruit in high school but lost his scholarship to USC after the conviction. Last year, he had some workouts with teams (including Seattle) after the news broke, but never appeared in a NFL game. If he makes the Atlanta Falcons roster, he will be 27 years old for the 2013 season, and likely need to find a role on special teams to have his dream of playing in the NFL come true.

Still, what a great story for him to get a chance and an opportunity with the Atlanta Falcons.
