Danilo Gallinari – one of Chris Webber’s favorite players – injured his left knee late in the second quarter against the Mavericks Thursday and the team just announced terrible news: he’s got a torn ACL and he’s out for the rest of the season. Gallinari has been instrumental in the Nuggets’ success this season, averaging 16.3 points per game (2nd on the team to Ty Lawson).
The Nuggets still beat the Mavericks on a last-second layup, and appear locked into the 3rd spot in the West, behind San Antonio and OKC, and ahead of the Clippers. Right now, it looks like Denver will play Golden State in the first round, which would be a terrific series.
