Pat Curran successfully defended his Bellator featherweight championship Thursday at Bellator 95. The fight started slowly as both fighters were understandably wary of each others’ power, but midway through the first round Curran ducked a punch and took Shahbulat Shamhalaev down and immediately locked him up in a guillotine choke. The fight went from boring to over in less than 10 seconds.

Curran (19-4) has now won six straight fights. Since he walked out of this fight unscathed, he may get his wish to stay busy in 2013.
