Josh Hamilton's Wife and Kids Didn't Get a Positive Reception in Texas Either
By Kyle Koster
Josh Hamilton was not welcomed back with open arms.
Texas Rangers fans booed their former star mercilessly all day yesterday during the home opener against Los Angeles. They also apparently directed some of their venom at his wife and children — to the point the Hamiltons deemed it necessary to call stadium security before the game even started.
"Hamilton said security officials remained with his wife and children at their seats throughout the game. He said the family would return to the ballpark for Saturday’s game. “Absolutely,” he said. “We’ve been through a lot worse.” Hamilton said the issue was “not necessarily the booing” but what he called “inappropriate things” said about “personal stuff.” Asked whether the jeers that offended his wife were directed at her, at Hamilton himself or at the entire family, Hamilton said, “All of the above.”"
Why are they going back today for more abuse?
Perhaps because Hamilton called the negative reception “a good lesson for the kids about people in general.”
If this type of display doesn’t prove Dallas is more than just a football town, nothing will.
