Mitch McGary is the breakout star of the tournament, giving them the inside presence they need. Just two months ago, he was a reserve coming off his own injury, and the ankle injury by Jordan Morgan opened the opportunity for McGary to emerge. At the time, Michigan was ranked #1, but very imbalanced and needing inside play.
“White Thunder” has provided that, and has taken off in March. That’s the name that Mitch McGary referred to himself while writing for this ESPN High School blog entitled Mitch’s Memos. (“What’s up world, it’s your boy Mitch aka White Thunder”). Among the other nuggets from Mitch’s Memos: he’s a big Drake fan.
As you guys know I always give a music review in my blogs and I didn’t do one last time so I wanted to give you guys a heads up about one of my favorite artists coming out in a couple weeks. Drake is dropping his album “Take Care” and it’s definitely going to be one that you’re gonna want to buy.
McGary also chose Michigan because “I actually like that they’re not on the biggest stage yet.” I guess some things have changed in seventeen months, so we’ll have to ask about Drake.
