Montrezl Harrell of Louisville capped a 14-3 run with this thunderous dunk late in the first half to briefly give the Cardinals the lead. But Michigan sank two free throws in the final seconds of the first half and your halftime score in a thrilling National title game: 38-37 Wolverines.
That has to be not only one of the best halves of basketball this season, but of the tournament, for sure, and in recent title game memory as well. When you’ve got Spike Albrecht scoring 17 points and Luke Hancock countering with 16 – the two were a combined 8-for-8 on three-pointers – and most importantly, people making shots … you’ve got excellent basketball.
