Jose Reyes, the centerpiece of the supposedly new and improved Toronto Blue Jays, was carted off the field last night after suffering what looked to be a significant injury to his left ankle while stealing second base against the Royals.
Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos expects him to miss one-to-three months.
Reyes, who teared up while receiving medical attention, was transported to the hospital for an MRI and shared the following on Instagram:
Sunny days wouldn’t be special if it wasn’t for rain. Thank you guys For all the love and the prayers. I put everything is God’s hands for he is the one that’s got me here.
The star shortstop has been one of the few bright spots for the Blue Jays early on, hitting .395 and reaching base in all 10 games.
