"“Football is supposed to be this violent sport — this aggressive sport that grown men are supposed to play,” said senior LSU running back Alfred Blue. “Ain’t no little boys out here between them lines. So if you gay, we look at you as a sissy. You know? Like, how you going to say you can do what we do and you want a man?”"
Blue, who will be a senior next season, won the starting job last year, and had back-to-back 100 yards games to open the season, but then tore ligaments in his knee against Idaho and was lost for the year.
As for his comments … yikes. He’s a college kid who turns 22 in a week. Everyone else from LSU quoted in the story says far more enlightened things on the subject of a gay athlete. [Daily Reveille]
