Cordarrelle Patterson Goes 29th to Minnesota, and the Vikings Gave Up 3 Picks to Get Him

2013 NFL DraftCordarrelle Patterson, the explosive receiver from the Tennessee Vols, is headed to Minnesota. The Vikings grabbed two defensive players at 23 and 25 – but not Manti T’eo – and rounded out a solid 1st round by taking Patterson, who could be the No. 2 receiver in Minnesota when the season begins. Greg Jennings, Greg Childs and Jarius Wright are all serviceable, but to get back to the playoffs, the Vikings will need Patterson so step in and be a factor.

Minnesota better hope he contributes – it sure gave up a lot for him – the Patriots got three additional picks in exchange for Patterson. Tough not to give the Vikings an ‘A’ for this impressive first round haul.
